Independence Golf Club is Richmond`s most upscale public golf course designed by Tom Fazio and re-designed by renowned architect, Lester George in 2014-2015. Previously owned by the Virginia State Golf Association Foundation, Independence has found new ownership under two brothers who bought the facility in 2013 and began a full-scale renovation on both clubhouse and course. In 2015, Independence Golf Club was named Golf Digest’s Top 10 Best Remodels in the country as well as the #1 Golf Course & Craft Beer Destination. Under the new ownership, Independence Golf Club has remained true to its’ roots by offering exceptional playing experiences, while also adding activities such as outdoor concert series, glowball shootouts, laser tag, art facilities and a high-end music academy!
