George Cobb laid out the school s previous championship course in 1949, but in 1999 Tom Fazio completely redesigned the playing field. With five sets of tee boxes plus two hybrid distance options, the course can play as long as 7,223 yards and as short as 4,942 yards. Towering pines envelop generous playing corridors on this predominantly flat site. Though you must beware of the trees, Fazio s trademark large, deep, and highly aesthetic bunkers further define the fairways and guard the greens. Fazio moved plenty of earth around at UNC Finley to create movement in the terrain and to elevate the tees and greens. Many holes provide different options to get to the green.
