About Warren Brook Golf Course
If you're looking for a challenging golf course that's also a good value, Warrenbrook Golf Course, is a great option. The muni course is one of five run by the Somerset County Park Commission, At just under 6,400 yards, it might seem that the par-71 layout might be on a shorter side, but it's anything but a pushover. Opened in 1996 and designed by Hal Purdy, the course is tree-lined with some narrow fairways, small greens, bunkers and even a few bind shots. The heavily wooded site requires patience and accuracy to successfully navigate a routing that produces plenty of uphill and downhill lies. There are four sets of tees at Warrenbrook, starting at 5,093 yards. The back nine is a par 36, despite having just one par 5. That's because it also has just one par 3 hole, the 12th. The front nine has two par 5s, but it also has three par 3s to make it a par-35. The ninth is just 145 yards from the back tees, but the fourth and sixth are 186 yards and 213 yards respectively, and can be difficult. The course is particularly stunning in the fall, with a variety of hardwood trees providing a colorful backdrop. Warrenbrook does not have a driving range, but it does have a short-game area with practice bunker, and a practice putting green. The large clubhouse features a friendly and well-stocked golf shop, offering apparel, accessories and some equipment. And there's also a snack shop serving food and beverages.
