Sandwich Hollows Golf Club

Featuring great views of Cape Cod Bay to the north, Sandwich Hollows Golf Club is a classic Robert Trent Jones design that's both enjoyable and picturesque. The course, which opened in 1971 and was designed by Jones and Melvin Lucas Jr., is a par 71 that plays just 6,307 yards from the back tees. Two other sets of tees, which start at 5,124 yards, give shorter hitters and higher handicappers options. But despite the lack of length, Sandwich Hollows anything but a pushover. The course has tree-lined fairways, a few elevated tees and plenty of doglegs, which puts a premium on accuracy and course management. The course also features a few elevated tees and a smattering of strategic bunkers, both in the fairways and around the greens. The holes have a great variety of lengths as well. For example, the par-5 sixth is 592 yards, while the par-3 third is just 127 yards. The par-4s are also varied. The no. 1 handicap hole is the par-4 ninth, which is 417 yards and very tight. Other par-4 holes, like the 318-yard second, provide good risk-reward opportunities. In addition to the golf course, Sandwich Hollows Golf Club also offers practice facilities that include a driving range, short-game area and putting green. Instruction is also available at the club's golf academy. Inside the clubhouse, golfers will find a well-stocked golf shop with reasonably priced merchandise. And the Clubhouse Sports Bar and Grille, offers great food, drinks and beer. It's open for breakfast, lunch and appetizers every day.
