About Country Club of Miami - East
Country Club of Miami has 36 holes and is part of the Miami Dade County family of municipal golf courses. Originally a private facility, it was designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones in 1961.
The facility touts some interesting history as the great Arnold Palmer served as the first club professional at CC Miami before moving back to his home in Pennsylvania. Jack Nicklaus once played an exhibition event here shortly after his college career was finished and Lee Trevino won his 4th professional tournament here in 1970 at -14 under par in the National Airlines Open.
The Country Club's most famous member back in the early years was comedian-actor Jackie Gleason who hosted many of celebrity players including Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. Country Club of Miami was the site of the former National Airlines Open and Senior Tour Qualifying School.
The West Course features a lot of sand, water and large bunkers. Stretching to 7017 yards and a par 72, the WEST Course is a very challenging round of golf. 4 sets of teeing grounds gives you some options.
The East Course is a favorite, at a little over 6300 yards, par 70 and is a fun play for those of all skill levels. The facility also features a lighted, 12 station driving range, practice green, chipping green and short game area. PGA instruction featuring the Crandon Golf Academy is available year round.
Advance tee times are requested. The golf shop features a staff with great customer service, nice selection of golf merchandise, rental clubs, locker rooms and soft drinks.
