About Dunedin Golf Club
With a great history and enjoyable course to boot, Dunedin Golf Club is a gem of a place to play. The course at this semi-private club was designed by none other than the great Donald Ross. From 1945 to 1962, it was home to the PGA of America, and it was the site of the Senior Tour Championship during those years. The course, which is 6,625 yards from the back tees, underwent a total restoration from 2006 to 2007. The work included rebuilt greens, tees and bunkers to faithfully recreate what it was when it opened in 1927. Here you will be following in the footsteps of some of the greatest golfers in history like Byron Nelson, Gene Sarazen, Harold "Jug" McSpadden, Sam Snead, Walter Hagan and so many more. The club was added to the National Register of Historic Places in Florida in 2014. Carved out of citrus groves, the course features some elevation changes and has a river that bisects it. The course features a variety of doglegs, strategic bunkering and challenging Ross greens. Besides the golf course, Dunedin Golf Club has excellent practice facilities that include a driving range, practice bunkers, chipping green and putting green. Lessons are also available. And inside the clubhouse is a well-stocked golf shop as well as the Fairway Grille and the 19th Hole Lounge, which has an excellent reputation in the community. The menu includes everything from breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, burgers and dinner entrees like steaks, seafood and chicken dishes.
