Located among 421 acres on California's central coast, Blacklake Golf Resort, which is open to the public, but also offers membership plans, has three nine-hole layouts sure to please every level of golfer. The course, which first opened in 1966 and was designed by Ted Robinson, has three distinct nine-hole layouts that can be enjoyed by themselves or in combination. The longest of the three is the Lakes Course, a par-36 that plays 3,276 yards from the back set of tees (there are four sets on each nine). It's considered the most forgiving of the three nines with generous fairways, and even opens with a par 3. The Canyons nine is also a par 36, playing 3,125 yards. It features several elevated tees overlooking rolling fairways below, while cool sea breezes keep you refreshed. And the shortest of the three is the par-35 Oaks Course, which is just over 2,900 yard from the tips. Set through a forest of coastal oak trees, this course is more target golf than the other two. In addition to the 27 holes, Blacklake Golf Resort also has excellent practice facilities that include a 30-station driving range as well as putting and chipping greens. Private lessons as well as group instruction is also available from the professional staff. Inside the clubhouse is a well-stocked golf shop that offers everything from golf balls to polo shirts to golf clubs. The Blacklake Bar & Grill is also in the clubhouse. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Thursdays, it offers everything from full breakfast plates and breakfast burritos to comfort food and craft beer.
