PGA WEST, known as  The Western Home of Golf in America and the most prolific golf haven in the Palm Springs realm, welcomes public golfers to make tee times at five of its nine courses. Two of those five, the PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course and the PGA WEST Pete Dye Mountain Course, are located next-door to the La Quinta Resort & Club, about a 15-minute drive from the main PGA WEST complex. While PGA WEST is known for very challenging golf courses, the PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course is about as player-friendly a layout as Pete Dye could ever bring himself to design. In fact, the course, which opened for play just after the PGA WEST Pete Dye Mountain Course in 1981, is one of the easier layouts for all levels of players in the entire Coachella Valley. The PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course playing field is quite flat. Dye utilized a number of small lakes, both sand and grass bunkers, and slightly elevated greens to defend par. While the PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course isn t nearly as scenic as other PGA WEST courses, the layout finishes strongly with holes on more intriguing ground facing the mountains. All of the PGA WEST courses are known for their fine greens and stellar course grooming. Both the PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course and the PGA WEST Pete Dye Mountain Course share practice facilities and play out of the PGA WEST Pete Dye Clubhouse. The in-house Pete s Grill serves breakfast and lunch. Neighboring La Quinta Resort & Club, located just to the north, is a classic retreat that has been welcoming guests since 1926. The resort makes for an ideal home base when playing the PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course or any other course at PGA WEST.
