About Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch Resort

The Furnace Creek Golf Course, located at the Furnace Creek Ranch, is the world’s lowest golf course at 214 feet below sea level. If that is not unique enough, how about having your ball stolen by a coyote pup or your concentration challenged by a passing roadrunner. An assortment of waterfowl can be seen around the course throughout the year. There are Canadian geese, egrets, huge ravens and several families of owls who move their nests from the far reaches of the course to the short-iron driving range. The par 70 oasis course is an accommodating 6,236 yards, which allows time to take in the beauty of the area. The longest hole is 573 yards while the shortest is 152 yards. But water comes into play on nine of the holes including the short 2nd. The fairways are beautifully lined with scores of date palms and 60-year old tamarisk trees, and breathtaking views of the surrounding Panamint and Funeral Mountains can be seen. Due to the unusual elevation, frequent golfers have noticed a distinct difference in how the ball responds in relation to other courses at or above sea level.
