About The Club at Starr Pass
The Club at Starr Pass is in the process of a multi-year improvement plan. The bunker re-construction project including improved drainage, liners, and sand is scheduled to be completed by August 15 on all 27 holes. The Palmer Course will re-open in mid-September with new TifEagle Bermuda grass greens. The greens on Rattler & Coyote are scheduled to be rebuilt in the summer of ’25.
The 27-holes at Starr Pass feature the Rattler & Coyote courses that were home to the Tucson Open from 1987-1996 and is the location that Phil Mickelson captured his first victory as an amateur in 1991. These two courses are designed by Robert Cup & Craig Stadler while Arnold Palmer designed the newest of the (3) nines. Nestled against the backdrop of the Tucson Mountains, these three layouts showcase dramatic elevation changes and iconic saguaro cacti, while crisscrossing multiple desert arroyos and ravines. A Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, the club consistently demonstrates a high degree of environmental stewardship throughout the property.
The JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa is the hub of the club’s membership offerings. Full golf members enjoy benefits of the golf course, clubhouse, water collections (including the lazy river), spa, and fitness center.
